JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

THE SPIRIT CONVICTS US OF SIN - HE SHOWS US WHAT WE ARE

John 16:7-8   But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.  When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:

1Thess 1:5   because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

James 2:9  But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.

JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

John 1:4  In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

John 1:5  The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

John 1:9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

John 3:19  This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

John 3:20   Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

John 8:12   When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

John 9:5  While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

Eph 5:13   But everything exposed by the light becomes visible,

Eph 5:14   for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

Col 1:12   giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.

1 Th 5:5  You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.

1 Tim 6:16   who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

1 Pet 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

1 John 1:5  This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

1 John 1:7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

1 John 2:8  Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.

JESUS DID NOT COME TO CONDEMN US BUT TO SAVE US

John 3:16-21 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.   For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.  This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.   Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.  But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
