Salvation

PRINCIPLES FOR SALVATION

When God created the world, it was perfect and Man was without sin.  But this situation didn't last long.  Man disobeyed God (which is what sin is) and ate of the tree of 'Knowledge of Good and Evil'.  As a consequence he became aware of his  nakedness.   He tried to cover him self but couldn't.  He tried to hide from God but couldn't.

God did provide man a covering but sent man out of the Garden of Eden.

Subsequently God made a Covenant with Abraham.  "I will be your God and you will be my people as long as you obey me"  This covenant was symbolized by circumcision.

God later gave them some rules to live by called the Ten Commandments when he spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai.  Man was able to offer animal sacrifices to atone for sin when he broke God's law.

The trouble was, God's people were not able to keep God's law and did not seek atonement.  They became uncircumcised in heart and broke his Covenant.

So God decided to send his only begotten son Jesus Christ to establish a New Covenant symbolized by baptism.  Jesus was to be a once and for all sacrifice to pay for the sins of all men once and for all.  Any man who would trust in Jesus to be his Lord and Savior would receive cleansing and forgiveness of sins (Justification)  as well as eternal life (Salvation) and freedom from oppression (Redemption).  In addition, they would receive a new Spirit when he baptized them (Rebirth, Born again, Regeneration) and he would make them Holy (Sanctification, Transformation) as they grew in the Knowledge of God.

HOW TO BE SAVED

BELIEVE (have faith in the God of the Bible )

Lu.7:50 Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."

Lu.8:12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

Jn 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

Jn.3:15 that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

Jn.3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Jn.3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."

Faith is expressed by obedience and action

Jn.5:24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

Jn.6:40 For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

Jn.6:47 I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.

Jn 7:39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

Jn.11:26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

Ac 11:17  So if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could oppose God?"

Ac.13:48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

Ac.16:30-1 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"  They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household."

1Co.1:21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

Gal.3:2,5 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard?  Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?

Gal.3:14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

Eph1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,

2Th.2:13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

1Ti.1:16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.

1Jn 5:1 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

Faith is a critical quality that God looks for in us that we may be saved.   We are saved by faith.  A person cannot be half saved.  You are either saved (or in the process of being saved) or you are not.  We must remember, however, it is God who opens our eyes and ears and gives us understanding, lest no man should boast.

Faithfulness is also a gift from God.  We are all given a measure of faith.  The greater the measure, the more pain we can stand before we break or give up.  God does not let us get tested more than we can bare.

Faith is also relative to what one is hoping for.  If you are not hoping for much, it doesn't take much faith.  If you are hoping for a lot then it may require much faith.  Hence, the issue may be "do you have enough faith?" as opposed to "do you have faith?"

Faith is the opposite of fear and anxiety.  Hope is the opposite of depression.

Depression is a state of hopelessness and it is relative to your goals.

If you feel you can't achieve your goal then you feel depressed and loose hope.  Depression therefore does not always imply no faith but not enough faith (or unrealistic goals which are not in God's will for your life).

Christians may therefore feel depressed if they set goals which are not according to God's eternal plan or if they do not have enough faith.

Faith attracts the best outcome.  Fear attracts the worst outcome.  In other words, faith makes good things happen and fear makes bad things happen.

BE BAPTIZED

Mt.28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Mt.3:11 "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Mk.16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Mk.1:8I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.

Lu.3:16 John answered them all, "I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Jn 7:38-9 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

Ac.1:5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

Ac.2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Ac.2:41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Ac.8:12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Ac.8:13 Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw.

Ac.8:16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

Ac.9:18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized,

Ac.10:47-8 "Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have."  So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days.

Ac 11:15-17 "As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning. Then I remembered what the Lord had said: 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' So if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could oppose God?"

Ac 19:1-6 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied. Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus." On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

Ac.16:15 When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. "If you consider me a believer in the Lord," she said, "come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us.

Ac.16:33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized.

Ac.18:8 Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized.

Ac.18:25 He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John.

Ac.19:5 On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

Ac.22:16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.'

Ro.6:3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

Ro.6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

1Co.12:13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

Ga.3:27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Ep.4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

Col.2:12 having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

1Pe.3:21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

CONFESS THAT JESUS IS YOUR LORD

Mt.10:32 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.

Mt.14:33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

Mt.16:16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Mk.8:29 "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ."

Jn.11:27 "Yes, Lord," she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."

Jn.20:28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

Ro.10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Ro.10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Ph.2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Heb.3:1 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.

Heb.13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that confess his name.

1Ti.6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

1Jn.2:23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

1Jn.4:2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,

1Jn.4:15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.

Re.3:8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

PRAY: CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD

Mt.21:22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

Lu.18:1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

Lu.21:36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."

Lu.22:46 "Why are you sleeping?" he asked them. "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation."

Ac.2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Ac.8:22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in your heart.

Ro.10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Ep.6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

1Th.5:17 pray continually;

STAND FIRM UNTIL THE END

Mt.10:22 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Mt.24:13 but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Mk.13:13 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Lu.21:19 By standing firm you will gain life.

Ro.2:7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

1Co.10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!

1Co.16:13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

1Co.15:2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

2Co.1:21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us,

2Co.1:24 Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm.

Ga.5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Ep.6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

Ph.1:27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel

Heb.10:39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.

Ja.5:8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.

1Pe.5:9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

1Pe.5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

FORGIVE OTHERS IF YOU EXPECT GOD TO FORGIVE YOU!

Mat 6:12  Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Mat 6:14  For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Mat 6:15  But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Mat 18:21  Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"    Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Mat 18:35  "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."

Mark 11:25   And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

Luke 6:37  "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Luke 11:4   Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.'"

Luke 17:3   So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.

Luke 17:4  If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him."

Luke 23:34  Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

John 20:23  If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."

2 Cor 2:7  Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

2 Cor 2:10  If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven--if there was anything to forgive--I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,

Col 3:13   Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

ASK GOD TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO YOU, TO GIVE YOU HIS SPIRIT, TO MAKE YOU HIS CHILD

Mat 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Luke 11:9 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Luke 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

OPEN YOURSELF TO HIM

Rev 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

PUT THE KINGDOM OF GOD FIRST

Mt.6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Lu 18:22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.

Mk.8:35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.

Lu.9:24 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.

Lu.18:28-30 Peter said to him, "We have left all we had to follow you!" I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life."

Heb.11:17 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son,

Jn.12:25 The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

YOU CAN'T EARN SALVATION; NOBODY DESERVES IT BECAUSE ALL HAVE SINNED

Ac.15:11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

Ep.2:5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved.

Ep.2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--

Tit.3:5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

2Ti.1:9 who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,

Ac.13:39 Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.

Ro.3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.

Ro.5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Ro.9:32 Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the "stumbling stone."

Ro.10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Ga.2:16 know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.

Ga.3:11 Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith."

lest we should boast

WE DO NEED TO BEAR FRUIT - THANKFULLY GOD IS PATIENT AND MERCIFUL (BUT NOT FOREVER)

Mt.3:8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

Mt.3:10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Mt.7:16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Mt.7:17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

Mt.7:18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

Mt.7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Mt.7:20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Mt.12:33 "Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.

Mt.21:43 "Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.

Lu.3:8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

Lu.3:9 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire."

Lu.6:43 "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.

Jn.15:2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

Jn.15:4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Jn.15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Jn.15:8 This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Jn.15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

Ga.5:22-3 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Ep.5:9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)

Ph.1:11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ--to the glory and praise of God.

Ja.2:14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?

Ja.2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Ja.2:18 But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

Ja.2:20 You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless

Ja.2:24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.

ENTER BY THE NARROW GATE - CHRIST

Lu.13:24 "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

Jn.5:39 You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me,

.Jn.10:9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture

Jn 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Ac.4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART - THIS IS THE FIRST AND THE MOST IMPORTANT COMMANDMENT.

Mt.22:37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'

Mk.12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'

Lu.10:27 He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

Ac.21:13 Then Paul answered, "Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."

2Th.2:10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

REPENT (TURN AWAY FROM SIN AND TURN TOWARDS GOD)  STOP SINNING!

Mt.3:6 Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

Mk.1:5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

Luke 13:3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

Luke 13:5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

Ac 2: 38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Ac.19:18 Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed their evil deeds.

Ja.5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

1Jn.1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Ja.1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

2Ti.2:19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near

We must repent before Christ comes back or before we die, whichever is first

As long as we are alive, it is never too late to repent

OBEY HIS COMMANDS

Mt.28:20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Jn.14:15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command.

Jn.14:23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

Jn.14:24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

Jn.15:10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.

Acts 5:32  We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

1Jn.2:3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.

1Jn.3:22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

1Jn.3:24 Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

1Jn.5:3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,

WALK IN THE LIGHT

Mat 5:16  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Mat 6:22  "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.

Mat 6:23 But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Luke 2:32   a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel."
